Urban intervention

Maybe not only urban.
Maybe even not intervention.

Expression? Till what point do we have, or not, the right to express ourselves in a public community area? To not only show off but express some desire or feeling. Actually, there's a slittly, and quite dangerous, difference between showing off and 'shouting out'.

I was a little bit ignorant about Banksy's point of view. At some point even assuming that he was showing off. Of course, ignorance, that usually leads to bias.
Marcello got a book of him, last weekend, at Tate Modern. Fantastic! Really, really impressive. (As are the short movies made by Luca, at Waterloo tube station)
The guy has got the feeling. He's some quite good painting techniques but that is definitely the less notorious of his qualities. I'm talking about image, imagination and expression.

From the Collins Dictionary:

expression
Noun
1. the transforming of ideas into words
2. a showing of emotion without words
3. communication of emotion through music, painting, etc.
4. a look on the face that indicates mood or emotion
5. a particular phrase used conventionally to express something
6. Maths a variable, function, or some combination of these

That has nothing to do with colourful posters or meaningless-stupidly-abstract-shit-called-art.
The artist, according to my personal definition, should be the one who can express, his or others, feelings.

(just to let you know, if you search for "artist" in google.co.uk the first link indexed is Banksy's official website! haha... quite popular, no?)

A virus. He ended up by being one. Anonymous, invisible, messing around.
Certainly he's not the only one.
We need much more of these. Much more intervention. Expression.
Good, simple, easily understandable and live art.

Browse the web for Banksy and check out what's going on.
Make a move.

"When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle.
Then I realised God doesn't work that way, so I stole
one and prayed for forgiveness."
